About the Event

Join us for another installment of our Revolutionary Stories: Loudoun and Beyond program series!

James “Jay” G. Harrison III, Executive Director of The Museum of Culpeper History, historian, first person living history interpreter, and archaeologist will discuss the history of Indigenous Americans in the American Revolution. In particular, he will examine the alliances of Native nations: how they viewed the war, why some tribes remained neutral, why others chose the side of the American colonists and while still others allied themselves with the British. In addition, Mr. Harrison will discuss the roles and contributions of Indigenous Americans during this conflict as diplomats, scouts and soldiers.
