About the Event
We have a special Leesburg First Friday coming up - Lafayette: Fiction and Fact! This program will feature two authors:
Mark Leepson — historian, journalist, and prolific author. A former staff writer for Congressional Quarterly, his work has appeared in many magazines and newspapers. Lafayette: Lessons in Leadership from the Idealist General focuses on the legendary French statesman and military man offering a unique examination of his remarkable military career on both sides of the Atlantic.
S.W. O'Connell — a retired US Army intelligence officer. He served around the world in numerous counterintelligence assignments. Upon retirement, he began combining his passion history with his military experiences to create historical novels. The Lafayette Circle is a historical fiction work diving into Lafayette’s visit to the United States in 1824-1825. A plot to assassinate Lafayette is unveiled, and only The Lafayette Circle can prevent it.
