Log Cabin

The Loudoun Museum Log Cabin is located at 14 Loudoun Street SW in the c.1760 Stephen Donaldson log structure., hen Nicholas Minor subdivided his land to form the Town of Leesburg, he was very particular about what, where, and how buildings were erected. The lot’s first owner—Mahlon Janney of Waterford—failed to erect a structure meeting the deed’s specifications, the lot was sold to Stephen Donaldson, a silversmith. The cabin is the only original exposed log house remaining in Leesburg and was the first restoration project of the Loudoun Restoration and Preservation Society.

In the past, the log cabin housed the museum's gift shop, but has been recently refurbished for use in our educational programs and as a meeting space for local businesses and non-profits. The Museum Log Cabin is open by appointment only Monday through Saturday—10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Phone 703.777.7427 for more information.
