Loudoun Museum Galleries Closed
In late December, as the floor repairs in the Front Gallery neared completion, the preparations for the repairs to the North wall of the museum began with the temporary closing of the Children's Discovery Room. The optimistic expectations of museum staff, the Town of Leesburg, and Madigan construction team - that the repairs to the interior of the North wall would take about two weeks - were dashed when the removal of plaster and wall board revealed a more complicated situation. To protect the staff, museum volunteers and visitors, and the objects on view, the galleries have been closed and the exhibitions have been removed from not only the Children's Discovery Room, but the Middle and Hall Galleries.
Follow the progress of the repairs (see photographs below) and watch for information about the reopening of the museum galleries.
We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to welcoming museum guests into the Loudoun Museum soon! Scout Programs and meetings will continue in the Log Cabin and First Friday Lectures will be offered off-site through the generosity of Museum friends. For more information call 703-777-7427 or email
