Phase 2
PHASE 2 - Part 2 - REPAIRS TO THE ODD FELLOWS MEETING HALL
Repairs to the floor and walls of the Odd Fellows Meeting Hall (second floor of the museum) are nearly complete. For decades this space housed the museum's entire collection of objects (approx. 7,600 objects), creating a strain on the building. Upon completion of the repairs, only the furniture and fine arts collections will be stored here, on open platforms. The collection will be made available for scholars, historians, students, and guests on special Behind the Scenes Tours.

One of the most significant challenges of this entire repair project has been dealing with the cracking plaster and mold on the North wall of the building. Those repairs were time consuming but the results are well worth the time and effort. The newly plastered and painted walls will enhance the gracious spiral staircase the leads from the Children's Discovery Room to the second floor and the Odd Fellows Meeting Hall.
For now, we can show you the pristine walls and the improved storage space under the stairs - watch for new images of the entire staircase after the repairs are complete and the protective plastic sheeting is removed!
