The Loudoun Museum offers guided walking tours of historic downtown Leesburg. Visitors will see historic homes and buildings that span the town’s 200 year history—from 18th Century log cabins to elegant Victorian mansions—and learn about some of Loudoun County’s most famous residents. The tour includes the Patterson House, built in 1761 and known for its drawings on the attic walls; the county courthouse of 1894, built on the site of the original 1761 courthouse; the Museum’s Log Cabin, circa 1767; and several of the historic churches in town. The charge for the tour—$10 for adults, $7 for seniors and museum members and $3 for children aged 5 to 12.. E-mail or call the museum at 703.777.7427 for more information.

Other guided tours are available upon request. For example, participants may elect to learn about the rich Colonial and Victorian architectural styles of the Historic District’s buildings, the founding of Loudoun County, its role in the struggle for independence or the effects of the Civil War that divided Loudouners.
