The museums Discovery Room features a small replica
of a early 19th century Quaker kitchen (complete with hearth,
cookware, and utensils), activity baskets full of reproduction
tools and toys, a play area, childrens books, and period
costumes for role playing. Based on John Jay Janneys
Virginia, the autobiography of Janneys boyhood
life in Loudoun County during the 1820s, the Discovery Room is the perfect place for children and families to spend an afternoon or meet for a play date.
